January 25, 2022

10:00 a.m. Meeting Called to Order – Chief Mitchell
Welcome – Chief Sloan Elrod – Pickens County

Invocation – Chief King, Bartow County
Item 1: Opening Remarks – Chief Mitchell – reported we need updates, some are not getting the minutes, we need to modernize paperwork etc. Solicit anyone that might have a better program.
- Web Page is being updated and we are looking for any extra to add to the site.
- We need to update personal contact information
Item 2: Minutes Last Meeting: Received option to approve minutes as printed. Motion and second. Passed unanimous
Item 3: Treasurers Report
- Previous Balance: $8,291.85
- Expense: $ 102.00
- Revenue:$ no addition
- Current Balance $8,189.85
Chief Davis: Seeking info to better manage and get information out to membership. Especially seeking scholarship information.
Chief Mitchell: Scholarship Applications; member applications/documents to update were available back of room. He emphasized that there seems to be minimum interest in Scholarship Program. They are typically awarded in fall and this year will be in Columbus. Lots of discussion regarding scholarship. They are available for any current continuing education. Eligibility – active member of any department that is current member NWGFCA.
Item 4: Old Business / Committee Reports
Mitchell: GMAG had their first meeting of the year at GFSTC – Gave updated report. He gave report on a recent event in NWG. All chiefs should be on the GMAG alert system. If not already on it…strongly encouraged to get on it. Update contact information if needed. ALERTS ARE SENT OUT WEEKLY.
GOVERNORS’ FIRST RESPONDER CHECK: NO UPDATE – ONE MUNCIPALITY RECEIVED – DAWSON COUNTY REPORTED THEIRS ARE PENDING
MEMBER SHIP BILLS – SOME DEPARMENTS NEED AN INVOICE – IF YOU NEED INVOICE, CONTACT CHIEF DAVIS. IF NEEDED, PROVIDE A LIST OF NAMES FOR THE DEPARTMENT.
WEB SITE – LOOKING REALLY GOOD.
STILL NEED PHOTOS FROM VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS.
PROVIDE ANY UPDATE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE.
THE IDEA IS TO GET THE FORMS WE USE ON THE WEB SITE. (SCHOLARSHIP ETC.) WORK WITH CHIEF DAVIS VIA WEB SITE. MIKE SMITH WILL SEND EMAIL WITH WEB MASTER NAME AND CONTACT INFO
