Chief Darrell Mitchell: Opening Remarks

Chief Mitchell: Meeting minutes (January), motion, second and approved.

Chief Prather: Treasurers Report – presenting for Chief Davis

GAFC Chief Marcus – *Update on CEU Credits GFSTC/DPH
*Gas Class Air monitors currently being distributed
*Gave update on the EMT-R program with ambulances.
*Reminder of GFA and GAFC Conference being held in Columbus Ga.
*Chief Jamison discussed Fire/Paid issues item for legislative session.

GFA-Mark *New kitchen nearly completed at Fire Academy
*Road being finished
*New classroom nearly complete
*Reminder of the FF Memorial coming up in October
*Reminder of Fire Safety in June
*FF Weekend in Emmitsburg coming up September 17-18 w/Indiana
COVID Vaccination Required / Mask Not Required
*Working on training program for GFA

Pension Fund-Luther *Reminder to update personal information for pension.
*Approximately 3000 inactive accounts / 7 year deadline for in-actives.
*Volunteer members down by 9 FF
*Retired FF’s up 36.

GSAR-Calhoun Chief *Now back to conducting GSAR Training.
*Planning for next GSAR training in the fall.
*Working to get back on a regular schedule.
*2022 Grant has been completed and submitted.
*Shoring Equipment in need of replacing – potential grant project.
*2020 Paratech Equipment replaced/upgraded.
*A DNR Watercraft purchased with 2019 grant.

TIME – Ray King *Recent LERP Class in Murray County was a success
*Approximately 40 students attend LERP
*Reported not many LEO participated.
*Reported that TRIP is expanding to the Whitfield County Line.
*Application period for tow companies ended in April
*Decision on Tow service to be decided in June
*Projected Implementation date July 1, 2022.

GEMA *Reported EMAG Conference best attended.
*Reported update on Certified Emergency Mgt. Program
*Focus change to assist EOC’s to only support.

Chief Mitchell-Old Business: *Gave report on the Executive Meeting in April
*Need more applications for the 2022 Scholarship Program
*Reminder of the joint conference coming up in fall
*Reported GEMA has new personnel in place for HazMat/GSAR
*Focus more on seeking new members (blood)

Chief Mitchell-New Business: *Reported in process of updating the NWGFCA By-Laws. Recommended edits for the clarification of regular meeting.
*Announced nomination committee needs to be appointed for 2023 election of officers.

Chief Rhodes: *Discussed the issue of retention of firefighters and the potential to redirect attention to compensation.

VENDORS:
NAFECO – Shannon Sauls: reported program to maintain 100 sets Bunker Gear

800 BOARD UP- Mike Smith: Announced a new data/loss evaluator to be offered to any department interested in utilizing.

BENNETT FIRE PRODUCTS: Also announced in stock bunker gear program.
Also announced adding “black” sets of gear.

FIRELINE – Reported 16 months delivery on new Engines and 23 month deliver on aerial devices.

It was announced by the vendors that there appears to be no relief in sight on delivery of equipment.
